When I was an exhausted new mum of twins, Auntie Win and Auntie Mary used to look after Rory and Lauren on Thursday afternoons to let Brian and I have some time together. "Don't rush back" they'd say and we'd come back and find they had walked for miles round Werrington, done the 3pm feed and the babies were sound asleep and stayed that way until the next feed was due. When Brian was back at work, my aunties used to come to me, and we would all walk, then come home and eat apple tart (brought by Auntie Win) or coconut cake (Auntie Mary). It meant all the more because I was so far from my mum and my aunties stepped in to help look after the twins (and me ) at that time. Maternity leave would have been a lot harder and a lot less fun without them.
