Will all the words I’ve written end?
And all the verses too?
Will the full stop sing its song for me,
or will the lines continue?


Will all the songs I’ve sang before
And the rhymes I’ve written last?
Perhaps the poems I’ve left to write
Will continue my precious craft


My words adorn neverending halls
And pictures even longer, 
Perhaps that’s the song I’ll leave for you 
Their lyrics ever stronger 


Will all the words I’ve written end?
No, they’ll welcome me home. 
Both friends and family I’ve lauded with joy,
Will greet me over the door.


I won’t be alone, quite the opposite,
Memories will greet me anew, 
The love I’ve given will welcome me home,
The seeds I’ve sewn always grew.
